Tanita Tikaram

Tanita Tikaram is a British singer-songwriter from Münster, United Kingdom, born in 1969. She is of Malaysian and Indo-Fijian family background, and is the sister of actor Ramon Tikaram. She lives in London.

Career

Tikaram builds her catalogue around folk pop, pop and sophisti-pop, with a recording career that begins with her debut album Ancient Heart in 1988. That album includes her best-known song, “Twist in My Sobriety”.

Her second album, The Sweet Keeper, follows two years later and includes “Sunset's Arrived” and “Harm in Your Hands”. She also releases Everybody's Angel, Eleven Kinds of Loneliness, Lovers in the City, Cappuccino Songs and Sentimental.
