Tale of Us

Tale of Us is an electronic group from Milano, Italy, made up of Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri. Conte is born in Toronto and Milleri in New York; both move to Milan while young, where they meet and form their partnership. The duo are active from 2010 to the present and later base themselves in Berlin.

Style and releases

Their productions draw on a broad mix of sounds, moving between pop, house, nu-disco and rock, while also fitting within deep house, house, tech house and ambient contexts. Their debut full release appears on Visionquest, the label run by Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss. Before that release, their tracks already appear on Barraca Music, Cocoon and Life & Death.

Collaborations and remixes

In 2010 they work with Visionquest labelmates Shaun Reeves and Ryan Crosson on remixes and EPs that receive critical attention. One notable remix is their version of Thugfucker’s “Disco Gnome” on Life & Death, which gains strong praise, airplay and sales. They also take on a remix for an album by the rock band Who Made Who, bringing together rock and techno.

Live activity

Tale of Us perform in clubs including Watergate, Weekend, Privilege, Tenax, Barraca and DC10. They also hold secret loft parties in Milan under the name Just This. Their schedule includes live and DJ sets at events such as Miami Music Week, Detroit Movement Festival, Sonar Barcelona, Klubber’s Day Madrid, Fiesta Privada Rome and Elita Festival Milan.
