Sunflower Bean is a group from Manhattan, United States, active since 2013. The band includes Julia Cumming, Olive Faber, Nick Kivlen and Star's Revenge. It is described as an indie rock and neo-psychedelic act, with associated styles including glam rock and indie pop.

Formation and lineup

The group forms in August 2013 in New York City. Its core lineup consists of frontwoman Julia Cumming, who previously performs with Supercute!, alongside Olive Faber and Nick Kivlen. Star's Revenge is also listed as a member.

Releases and label history

Sunflower Bean releases its first single, Bread, shortly after forming. In 2015, the band signs to Fat Possum Records and issues its debut EP, Show Me Your Seven Secrets, before releasing its first full-length album, Human Ceremony. In 2017, it signs to Mom+Pop Records and releases its second album, Twentytwo In Blue the following year.

Style and activity

The band describes its sound as “neo-psychedelic for the digital age”. It performs extensively in New York City and later tours across Europe and the United States in support of Twentytwo In Blue.
