Strangers On A Train
Strangers On A Train is a UK progressive rock group formed in 1990 around Clive Nolan, with Karl Groom and Tracy Hitchings. Nolan, who is also associated with Pendragon, Arena, Shadowland and Caamora, writes the music and lyrics for the band’s planned trilogy of albums, The Key. Hitchings is the singer from Landmarq.
The Key albums
The first album in the series, The Key Part I: The Prophecy, appears in 1990, followed by The Key Part II: The Labyrinth in 1993. The band’s sound on these releases combines neo-prog with new age music and cinematic soundscapes. After the second album, the group makes only a small number of live appearances.
The planned third part does not appear, as the members’ work in other projects, including Pendragon, Arena, Landmarq, Threshold and Caamora, leaves the series on hold. The first two albums are later rereleased by Verglas Music.
