Skin for a Canvas

Skin for a Canvas begins as an ambient acoustic project formed by Dani Burnett and Ian Mortimer, both of whom come from different metal bands in the Portsmouth area of the United Kingdom. Their paths meet in 2007 and they develop a musical partnership over four years of writing and planning before releasing the debut album The Soul Creates a Harmony, which they self-produce.

In late 2011, Burnett leaves the project, and Mortimer continues under the same name. The album has already received a positive response in live performance, and the project continues to build experience and reputation. A second Skin for a Canvas album is later mastered for release in early 2012, with new material intended for live performances.
