Samantha Crain

Samantha Crain is a Choctaw-American songwriter, musician and singer from Shawnee, Oklahoma. Her work sits across alternative rock, americana, folk rock, indie folk, indie rock and singer-songwriter styles, with connections to folk and alt-country.

Early releases and band line-up

Crain’s first recording is the self-released EP The Confiscation, issued in 2007. Her first full-length album is Songs in the Night from 2009, credited to Samantha Crain & the Midnight Shivers. That line-up includes Jacob Edwards, Andrew Tanz and Beth Bombara. After the group disbands, Crain continues as a solo artist.

Solo albums

Her first solo album is You (Understood), released in 2010. Her third album, Kid Face, follows in 2013. Under Branch & Thorn & Tree appears in 2015, and You Had Me At Goodbye in 2017. The later record shows a more pop-oriented direction in her work.
