Ryan Keen

Ryan Keen is a singer-songwriter from Totnes, United Kingdom, born in 1987. He begins playing guitar at the age of eight and develops his technique through classical, flamenco, folk and electric styles before settling on the percussive fingerstyle approach he is known for. His work is rooted in acoustic songwriting and draws on a wide range of influences.

Before launching a solo career in December 2008, Keen spends years playing guitar with other performers, vocalists and bands. He then builds a catalogue of self-written material shaped by personal experience, with vocals and lyrics that sit alongside his more complex guitar parts.

In January 2010, he self-releases his debut EP, Aiming For The Sun. The release leads to several festival bookings and a sync placement, with the title track used on the Canadian television series Degrassi.
