Roger Hodgson

Roger Hodgson is an English rock musician, singer and songwriter from Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Born Charles Roger Pomfret Hodgson in 1950, he is best known as a former co-frontman and co-founder of Supertramp. He is also a member of Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band and Argosy.

Career

Hodgson helps form Supertramp and remains with the band for 14 years before leaving in 1983. He and Rick Davies share songwriting credit in the group, but they write and compose separately. Hodgson is widely known as a composer and lyricist and writes and sings a number of the band’s best-known songs, including “The Logical Song”, “Breakfast in America”, “Give a Little Bit”, “Take the Long Way Home”, “Dreamer”, “It’s Raining Again”, “School” and “Fool’s Overture”. These songs help Supertramp sell more than 60 million albums.

Solo work

As a solo artist, Hodgson releases Open the Door in 2000. He also tours as a solo performer, with his touring activity noted into 2019.
