Ricky Warwick

Ricky Warwick is a rock and folk musician and songwriter from Newtownards, Scotland, born in 1966. He works as a lead singer and guitarist, and his career spans hard rock, heavy metal and rock.

Career

Warwick starts out as a rhythm guitarist in New Model Army before forming The Almighty in 1988. He becomes best known as the frontman of The Almighty, a Scottish hard rock band that achieves UK chart success through the 1990s. He also fronts his own solo project, The Fighting Hearts, which performs his solo material.

He serves as lead singer and guitarist with Thin Lizzy and is also the lead singer of Black Star Riders. In 2006, he joins Circus Diablo with Billy Duffy of The Cult. He also plays lead vocals and guitar in a short-lived band called (sic) in 1997. Warwick takes part in Thin Lizzy's 2011 European tour marking 25 years since the death of Phil Lynott, and in December 2012 he co-founds Black Star Riders with guitarist Damon Johnson to record new material associated with the Thin Lizzy spin-off.

Warwick has several solo albums, including Tattoos & Alibis (2003), Love Many Trust Few (2005), Love Owes EP (2007), Belfast Confetti (2009), Hearts on Trees (2014), When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang the Blues) (2014), Stairwell Troubadour (2015) and When Life Was Hard and Fast (2021).

Collaborations

Warwick is friends with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and contributes backing vocals to Def Leppard albums, with Elliott returning the favour on Warwick's own recordings.
