Revere

Revere are a UK indie-rock band based in London, active from 2005 to 2016. The band’s final lineup includes Stephen Ellis, Ellie Wilson, Nicholas Hirst, Ruban Byrne, Thom Ashworth, and Ian Cotterhill. The group is associated with Albino Recordings.

Style and sound

Revere build a guitar-led sound that incorporates violin, cello, keys and trumpet. Their music combines post-rock, rock, alternative and indie elements with orchestral textures, and also draws on gypsy songs, funeral marches, klezmer, film scores and gospel. Their arrangements move between quiet openings, melodic passages and larger finales.

Career

The band announce their split in 2016 after two final shows, and release a final video from the Man of Atom EP for the track “Sonder”.

The line-up listed for the group also includes Kathleen Mckie on cello.
