Ray Davies

Ray Davies is an English rock musician, singer-songwriter and member of The Kinks. He is from Fortis Green in the United Kingdom and is born in 1944. He is best known as the lead singer-songwriter of The Kinks, which he leads with his younger brother Dave Davies. The band becomes one of the most influential, prolific and long-lived groups of the British Invasion.

Davies also works in theatre and television as an actor, director and producer. In 1985, he releases his first solo album, Return to Waterloo, which accompanies a television film he writes and directs. After The Kinks end in the mid-1990s, he continues with a solo career.

His solo releases include The Storyteller in 1998, Other People's Lives in 2006, Working Man's Café in 2007, Americana in 2017 and Our Country: Americana Act 2 in 2018. Other People's Lives is his first UK top 30 hit since the 1980s, and Americana reaches No. 15 in the UK. In 2017, he is knighted for services to the arts.
