Pedestrian, the UK electronic producer
Pedestrian is the working name of Jack Sibley, a UK-based electronic DJ and producer. His work is associated with bass music, with production that uses heavy basslines, crystallised synths, organic sampling and melodic textures. He releases music on Push & Run, 2nd Drop, Brownswood and Metalheadz.
His first 12-inch release is Hei Poa on Push & Run, which receives critical attention for its production and dancefloor impact. He is also known for remixes of Gang Colours and Emeli Sandé, and for a Lauryn Hill bootleg made with Maribou State. His track “Hoyle Road” appears on James Zabiela’s Born Electric imprint in 2013. Support for his music comes from Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Commix, Ifan Dafydd and Huw Stephens, and he is listed by K Magazine among its bass music artists to watch.
Pedestrian / The Pedestrian, the rapper
Pedestrian is also the pseudonym of rapper James Brandon Best. He is one of anticon’s co-founders and first releases a 12-inch, The Toss & Turn, in 2004.
