Parquet Courts are a Brooklyn, United States band active since 2010. They are a US garage rock group whose sound is associated with art punk, garage rock revival, indie rock, post-punk, post-punk revival and punk.
Line-up
The band consists of Andrew Savage, Austin Brown, Sean Yeaton and Max Savage. Andrew Savage fronts the group and also works on projects including Fergus & Geronimo, Teenage Cool Kids and Wiccans.
Style and early releases
The band’s debut release, American Specialties, is described as drawing on a mix of The Fall and Neil Young. It moves between American and British underground influences, with lyrics that are often unusual, dramatic or opaque. Some songs also shift into more reflective territory, including the folk-influenced Square States.
