Pappy's

Pappy's are a comedy group made up of Ben Clark, Matthew Crosby and Tom Parry. They first perform under the name Pappy’s Fun Club and form in 2004. Their early work includes a run of shows at The Old Coffee House in Soho, followed by a show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006.

Early recognition

In 2006, Pappy’s receive a nomination for Best Newcomers at the Chortle Awards. The following year, their second Edinburgh show is nominated for the If.Comedy Award, which is formerly known as the Perrier Award.

Later work and touring

In 2008, they win a Chortle Award, record a pilot for Radio 4, make a Comedy Lab for Channel 4, and perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They also take a third show, Funergy, to the Edinburgh festival. After touring Funergy around the UK in 2009, they present Pappy’s Fun Club’s World Record Attempt: 200 Sketches In An Hour, which receives a string of five-star reviews.

Line-up change and other appearances

In November 2009, they part ways with fourth member Brendan and continue as a trio, later touring a revised version of the 200 Sketches show. They also appear on television both together and as solo performers, including Miranda, Meet The Parents, Fast & Loose, Trinny & Susannah: From Boom to Bust, Dick and Dom’s Funny Business and Robert’s Web.
