Novelist is Kojo Kankam, a grime MC and producer from Lewisham, South London. He is a member of The Square and is signed to XL Recordings.

He is known as a grime solo artist. The name Novelist is also used by a separate act formed in 2005 by Chase Middaugh and Ryan McMullen, but Kojo Kankam is the artist associated with the Lewisham grime project.
