Noisia

Noisia are a Dutch electronic music trio from Groningen, made up of Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger. The group is active from 2000 to 2022 and works across drum and bass, dubstep, EDM, electro house, electronic and halftime. They break through in 2003 and build a reputation for detailed sound design and technical production.

Music and releases

Noisia release singles and two artist albums, Split The Atom and Outer Edges. Their music ranges from experimental soundscapes to heavy club tracks. They also make remixes for acts including Pendulum and The Prodigy. Their label work includes Vision and Division, and they release through Division Recordings, Invisible Recordings and Vision Recordings.

Collaborations and side projects

The trio collaborate with artists including Amon Tobin and KRS-One. They also work with Foreign Beggars as I Am Legion, a project centred on a hip-hop and electronic blend. Their output extends beyond club music into gaming, film and theatre.

Radio, events and live work

Noisia run Noisia Radio and Noisia Invites events. They also perform DJ sets and an Outer Edges audiovisual show that presents their music in a live audio-visual format. Based in Groningen, they operate from a high-tech studio complex there.

Other work

The group composes music for the game Devil May Cry and the contemporary ballet Sleeping Beauty Dreams. Through their labels they support newer artists such as Tsuruda, Former, Samba, Signal, Chee and HØST, alongside established names including The Upbeats, Mefjus and Posij.
