Nick Pride & The Pimptones
Nick Pride & The Pimptones are a United Kingdom soul group based in Newcastle upon Tyne. They form in 2007 as a project for guitarist, composer and arranger Nick Pride, and they continue as an active band.
Style and repertoire
The group plays funk, jazz, jazz-funk and soul, and their material is original. Their sound is associated with deep funk and jazz-dance, with heavy dancefloor grooves, breaks and more intricate jazz-oriented numbers. They are described as a band that works well both in a noisy nightclub and in a smaller jazz setting.

The current line-up includes Nick Pride, Ian 'dodge' Paterson and Eliza Lawson. The wider line-up listed for the group also includes Oscar Cassidy on drums, Keith Nicholson on trumpet and Tom Quilliam on saxophone.
