Nat Johnson is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Sheffield. She is best known as the former leader of the folk-pop group Monkey Swallows the Universe, active from 2003 to 2008, and Nat Johnson and the Figureheads, active from 2008 to 2012.

Career

Johnson writes and releases albums as a solo artist and has also played live radio sessions on BBC 6Music and Radio 4. Her live performances feature multi-instrumentalists Katherine Jackson and Hannah Browne.

Releases and airplay

Her single DOG is released in 2014 and receives support from Gideon Coe, Steve Lamacq and Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6Music, as well as airplay on XFM and other UK stations. Her album Neighbour of the Year is also released in 2014.

Live work

Johnson performs at festivals including Green Man, Latitude and End of the Road, and supports artists including Low, Diane Cluck, Richard Hawley and Camera Obscura.
