Mother Corona

Mother Corona is an Oxfordshire stoner rock group formed in late 2008 in Didcot by David Oglesby and Lee Cressey. Robert Glen joins on bass the following summer. The band’s sound draws on heavy distorted riffs, sludge, melodic psychedelia and spaced-out, atmospheric passages, placing it within stoner rock, metal, space rock and psychedelic rock.

The group releases its self-titled debut EP on its own Button Mushroom label in 2010. It receives positive notices from local rock press, and the band begins playing regularly in the local underground rock scene, sharing stages with acts including Desert Storm, K-Lacura and Undersmile. It also appears on the free compilation album City of Screaming Spires: Vol 1 with the track “Vertigo Terror”.
