Misty Miller
Misty Miller is a musician from the United Kingdom, associated with folk, acoustic, indie folk and indie music. She begins her career as a sweet-singing ukulele player and releases her debut album in 2011. She later returns with a fuller band line-up and a more developed sound.
Career
After leaving college, Miller continues with her own band, featuring guitarist Jak Payne, drummer Dan Lyons and bassist Jack Everett. In 2013 she releases two EPs, Next to You and Girlfriend. Her third EP, Sweet Nothing, comes out on Relentless/Sony in 2015.
Style and influences
Her music is shaped by the South London scene in Brixton, where she develops a style she feels more comfortable with. It also draws on 1960s influences, heard in raw vocals, sharp guitar lines and varied verse structures. She names Patti Smith, The Stooges and The Velvet Underground among the artists that inform her eclectic taste.
