Maiden uniteD

Maiden uniteD is a Dutch acoustic rock project that starts in 2006 and remains active. It is an acoustic tribute to Iron Maiden and begins as a special show rather than a standard tribute or cover band. Joey Bruers, who is associated with Up the Irons, initiates the idea at a Dutch fan club convention, where musicians from several bands perform rearranged acoustic versions of Maiden songs. The response from the audience is strong, and Steve Harris attends the convention and gives the project approval.

Project focus

The project centres on acoustic reinterpretations of Iron Maiden material and on bringing together musicians and fans around that repertoire. Its name reflects that aim of uniting people through the music.

Recording and personnel

Mind the Acoustic Pieces is the first release associated with the project. It presents an all-acoustic version of the 1983 album Piece of Mind, with new arrangements. The ensemble on that release includes Mike Coolen, Ruud Jolie, Marco Kuypers, Damian Wilson, Joey Bruers and Anneke van Giersbergen. Named members associated with the group also include Jermain van der Bogt, Stef Broks, Joey Bruers, Mike Coolen, Anneke van Giersbergen, Ruud Adrianus Jolie, Marco Kuypers and Damian Wilson.
