Magnifico is the stage name of Robert Pešut, a Slovenian singer from Ljubljana, Slovenia, born in 1965. He starts out with the group U'redu, with whom he records his first album, Let's dance, in 1992, before moving into a solo career.

Career

Over the next 12 years, Magnifico records six solo albums and becomes known as one of the most prominent figures in Slovenian popular music. His work combines disco, balkan, funk and electronic music, forming a distinctive style that becomes widely recognised.

His songs include Silvija, which appears in connection with the Slovenian Eurovision pre-selection in 1998, as well as Kdo je čefur, 24.000 poljubov and Hir aj kam hir aj go. The last of these also becomes popular outside Slovenia, including in Italy and in former Yugoslav countries.

Collaborations and media work

Magnifico works with other Slovenian acts, including Sestre and Turbolentza. Turbolentza appears in his music video for Giv mi mani. He is also under contract with Sony.

Alongside music, he acts in Slovenian films including Stereotip, Kajmak in marmelada, Poker and Porno film.
