Lucy Gallant

Lucy Gallant is a singer-songwriter from Australia, raised in Byron Bay, with a background that also includes being born in London, England. She begins performing as a teenager, building her instrumental skills on drums, guitar and violin, and appearing live in clubs, pubs and music festivals across Australia. She also works as a fire-dancer and performs fire shows alongside singing.

Early life and travel

Gallant leaves home at 14 and starts travelling and performing, first hitch-hiking around Australia. She later travels widely, including a period riding a horse through Brazil for several months. She says she has experiences in more than 40 countries and values travel, different cultures and meeting people from around the world.

She records and releases three compilations over a four-year period. Her studio releases include the EP The Knowing, her debut studio album Passion, and the studio LP Love Poems. These recordings present material shaped by different emotions, memories and stages of her life.

Performances and recognition

Gallant performs at major festivals including the Byron Bay Blues Festival and Woodford Music Festival. She also tours the east coast and performs at venues including The Cutting Room in New York City, the Bitter End in New York City, and The 8x10 in Baltimore. She performs at the grand opening galas for Thievery Corporation in Washington, DC, and the Voodoo Lounge in Miami.

She wins the Blues Over Byron music competition and appears in The Orijin Online Magazine and DSP magazine.
