Lee Uhf
Lee Uhf is a hardcore DJ and promoter who starts DJing in 1998. He performs at events including Uprising, Revolution, Species Manchester, Defiance, Vibealite, Future Dance in London, North, Cypher, Fantasy Island, Bowlers, Rewind and Oblivion.
Events and promotions
In 2001, he starts his own event, Bedlam, in Sheffield. In 2004, this develops into Total Bedlam in Nottingham, which is described as a forward-thinking hardcore event and is mentioned in Mixmag as the second-best monthly hardcore night in the country that year.
In 2008, he launches Raw Sickness in Birmingham, an event focused on harder styles including darkstep drum and bass, techno, dubstep, gabber, breakcore and breaks. The event has three follow-up nights and hosts a room for Fantazia on New Year’s Eve 2008.
Production and releases
Bedlam Records starts in 2003, and he learns production with Dave Devastate. The first release appears on the Bonkers and Dekadance albums and sells out within weeks. In 2009, Lee Uhf and Shanty form Electronic Bedlam, which releases three albums and ten vinyl samplers. In 2010, the original Bedlam Records label returns on vinyl alongside the Raw Sickness events.
Live work and recognition
Following the success of the early releases, he receives bookings for events including Dizstruxshon, Hardcore Heaven, HH Weekender, Slammin Vinyl, Futurevibe, Uproar, Delerium, Magna, Helter Skelter, Innovation and One Nation. He also plays in France, Spain, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Poland, Hungary, Italy and the United States.
In 2005, he is nominated for Best Breakthrough at the Hardcore Heaven Awards and finishes second.
