Kove is the drum and bass project of English producer James Rockhill, who is born in 1990 and based in England, United Kingdom. He works in drum and bass and electronic music.

Career

Rockhill first gains wider attention under the name Kove after an early release period that begins with “Breach/Stellar” on Viper Recordings, the label run by Matrix and Futurebound. Soon after, RAM Records founder Andy C signs “Iodine/Open Ground” to his Program Recordings imprint. That track appears on a Mixmag compilation associated with Andy C, leading to an invitation for Kove to perform at RAM’s residency at Fabric in London.

After “Iodine” comes out, Kove’s track “Searching” reaches Chase & Status, who include it on their own Mixmag compilation. It becomes his second track to appear in the magazine’s mix CDs in a short period. He then signs to Chase & Status’ label MTA, which also releases music by Nero.

Releases, chart success and support

Kove supports Chase & Status at club nights across Europe as “Searching” becomes one of the major summer releases, receives strong support from Radio 1, and reaches number one on Beatport’s drum and bass chart. He also becomes more in demand as a remixer.

Remixes and DJ work

His remix work includes Chase & Status’ top 10 single “Lost and Not Found” and John Newman’s “Love Me Again.” As a DJ, he holds a regular slot for Together at Amnesia in Ibiza, plays the main stage for UKF at SW4 in London, and supports acts including Sub Focus.
