Kölsch

Kölsch is the recording name of Rune Reilly Kolsch, a Danish electronic and house artist from Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen, born in 1977. He is associated with techno, house, minimal and tech house, and his work is also tagged as EDM.

Career

He is known for releasing music under several different monikers and for production work that reaches a wide international audience. He has sold millions of records worldwide across those projects. Despite that broader career, he places particular emphasis on techno and on his underground roots.

Tattoorecs

With his brother Johannes Torpe, he co-founds the label Tattoorecs. The label is built around a distinctive release idea: tracks have no titles and are instead identified by tattoos. Its output is described as romantic techno with strong influences from the Detroit and Chicago scenes. The label attracts support from major minimal DJs including Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Tiefschwarz and Ricardo Villalobos. Ink & Needle are the only act signed to the label.

Label affiliation

Kölsch is associated with IPSO and Kompakt.
