Josh Doyle

Josh Doyle is a singer-songwriter and musician from Kent who is based in Nashville, Tennessee. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the British pop-punk band The Dum Dums.

Career

The Dum Dums are signed to the same management as Busted, and Busted are developed along lines associated with the band. Doyle leaves the group after it breaks up in 2001, after one album, while the band is working on a second record. He says the split comes after the record company and management push for a more pop-focused direction, while the material is moving towards a harder rock sound.

After leaving the band, Doyle reappears in Nashville in 2004 with a more folktronica-influenced style. He releases the independent EP The End of Fear, followed in 2009 by the EP Values and Virtues. For supporters who help fund the recording, an additional eight tracks are available as downloads, making the release function as an extended mini-album.

Style

Doyle's work is associated with rock, power pop, acoustic music and inspirational material, with his solo output moving away from the pop-punk sound of The Dum Dums.
