Joseph Capriati
Joseph Capriati is a techno and tech house producer and DJ from Caserta, Italy, born in 1987. He begins DJing in 1998, first drawn to house and hip hop, and plays in clubs in southern Italy from 1999 to 2004 while developing a stronger focus on techno.
Early development and first productions
Capriati starts making his own music in 2005, learning production in a friend’s recording studio before buying his own sound card and MIDI keyboard and working independently. In 2006 he becomes a resident DJ at Disco Seven, an underground club in his hometown, where he performs alongside established techno DJs.

His early releases include Formaldehyde, issued on vinyl through Globox and paired with the B-side Microbiotik, which gains attention from DJs including Richie Hawtin, Magda and Paco Osuna. At the end of 2007 he debuts on Analytic Trail with C’est la Vie, and in 2008 he continues with releases on CMYK, Loose Records, Unrilis, MKT and Alchemy Records. Recognition in the techno scene
His track Molotov on Analytic Trail becomes a notable techno release and is selected by Richie Hawtin as the opening track in his tour sets, including at Love Parade. In February 2009 Capriati issues an EP on Chris Liebing’s CLR label with the tracks Login and Passworld, and later that year makes his debut on Drumcode, the label run by Adam Beyer, with the EPs DC53 and 53.5.
