Jon Boden is an English folk singer and fiddle player born in Chicago and raised in Winchester, England. He is associated with folk music and works as a singer-songwriter, with activity across solo work, duos and bands.

Career

Boden is a member of Spiers & Boden and Bellowhead, and also performs with Jon Boden & The Remnant Kings. He plays fiddle in Spiers & Boden and in Bellowhead, and he also plays with Eliza Carthy’s former band The Ratcatchers, with which he works until 2007.

In addition to performing, he writes theatre scores. He studies Medieval Studies at Durham and Composition for Theatre at the London College of Music.

Solo work

His solo discography includes Painted Lady and Songs from the Floodplain. He also works with folk singer Fay Hield, with whom he has two children.
