JETTBLACK

JETTBLACK is a British rock group associated with hard rock, heavy metal and sleaze rock. The band records in a style shaped by eighties and early nineties rock and metal, with an emphasis on riffs, solos, melodic hooks and a direct live sound.

Recording and style

In November 2007 the group records a self-titled album at Fortress Studios. Justin Hill and Dan Weller, both of Sikth, oversee the recording. The album is described as blending the band’s influences into songs with melody, power and strong hooks.

Live activity

JETTBLACK tours with Airbourne and appears at a number of summer festivals in 2008, including T in the Park, NASS and Unleashed at the Boardmasters Festival. The group also performs at Hard Rock Hell Festival later that year.

The group includes Matt Oliver.

Reception

The band receives notice for an energetic, no-frills approach and for a sound compared with hard rock and metal acts such as Def Leppard, Cinderella, Skid Row and Judas Priest.
