Iain Archer

Iain Archer is a singer-songwriter from Bangor, United Kingdom, working in rock and indie. He is born in 1971 and comes from Northern Ireland. He is associated with Secret Words and has been a member of Snow Patrol, The Mighty Fall, Dorothy Fields, Disreali Gears, The Reindeer Section and Tired Pony.

Career

Archer begins as a solo artist in the mid-1990s, when he releases several albums on the Scottish independent label Sticky Music. After a period in Snow Patrol, he works with the band’s frontman Gary Lightbody in The Reindeer Section, then returns to solo work. He releases Flood The Tanks in 2004 and Magnetic North in 2006.

Awards

He receives an Ivor Novello Award in 2005 as part of the songwriting team behind Snow Patrol’s Final Straw.
