Hooton Tennis Club
Hooton Tennis Club is an indie rock group from Liverpool, active since 2013. The band consists of Harry Chalmers, James Madden, Callum McFadden and Ryan Murphy.
The group begins as four friends from Liverpool and releases its debut single as a double A-side, “Jasper” / “Standing Knees”. That release is produced by fellow Merseysider Bill Ryder-Jones and sits in a lo-fi indie rock lineage often associated with Teenage Fanclub, Pavement and Guided by Voices. Its sound is described through unhurried chord changes and restrained drumming.
