Hooligan
Hooligan (훌리건) are a five-piece Korean rock group that form in 2002. Their line-up includes YooSeok Kim on vocal/rap, Gang’s (KyeongSoo Kim) on vocal/rap, HyeSeok Oh on bass and programming, MinJae Jung on guitar and programming, and SooChul Wee on drums and percussion. The group also appears in connection with T. Morgan and is associated with Peshay and Altered-Ego.
Career
The band begins performing live in 2002 with appearances at the National Live Club, the Soyorak Festival and as a guest act at the 518 Rock Festival. In 2003 it releases its first EP, Are U Tired, and takes part in projects and events including Hip Hop Train, the album Underground, Gate in Seoul, the 5th Ssamzie Sound Festival, the Teleconcert, and film festivals in Junju and Buchun. It also performs at a Korea-Japan cultural exchange concert.
In 2004 Hooligan releases its first full-length album, Hooligan Party, appears as a guest on the ZERO-Seotaiji Live Tour, joins a Coalition for Cultural Diversity invitation concert in Seoul, takes part in the June Nanjang Festival, and releases a second album, Overlap. During 2005 the group appears on television and radio across several Korean broadcasters, including M.net, MTV, KMTV, MBC, KBS, SBS and CBS, and performs as the main act at the Yolla-Holla concert at the Sejong Center. It also attends the Young-Nam University Rock Festival and releases the single Bad Girl.
In 2006 the band contributes main soundtrack work to the online game Red Card and the television drama Dasepo Naughty Girl, performs in Frankfurt for the 2006 World Cup games, attends a club showcase in Tokyo and Nagoya, and releases its third album, Hello, Monday. In 2007 it performs in Chengdu, Shanghai and Tokyo, and appears at the T-Live concert at the W Hotel. In 2008 it releases its fourth album, My Sweetie.
