Hidden Orchestra
Hidden Orchestra is an Edinburgh-based group led by multi-instrumentalist composer and producer Joe Acheson. The project begins in 2005 and is active from 2010 onwards. It develops from a quartet formation under Acheson’s name and includes Poppy Ackroyd on keyboards and violin, Tim Lane on drums, and Jamie Graham on v-drums and percussion. The group’s sound sits within jazz, nu jazz, electronica, instrumental, experimental and modern classical music.
Releases
Hidden Orchestra releases music on Tru Thoughts. Its albums include Night Walks and Archipelago. Night Walks is also issued in a vinyl deluxe edition as Night Walks on Vinyl on Denovali, alongside the Flight EP. The group also releases the double A-side single Fourth Wall / The Revival in 2013.
