Hannah Scott

Hannah Scott is a UK folk and acoustic artist active from 2007. Her work is closely associated with Italy, which shapes both her writing and her recording history. In her late teens, she spends a year living and working in Tuscany, and this experience informs her early material. She later travels repeatedly between the UK and the hilltop villages of Liguria over nine months to record the EP Still Static.

Scott finds a long-term base with Stefano Della Casa’s Hertfordshire-based label and production company, Casa Music, which she describes as her own corner of Italy. Her release Hurricanes is made with Stefano as producer and multi-instrumentalist, and his role is an important part of her development as both songwriter and performer.

Hurricanes leads to a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 programme. The single also receives airplay from Bob Harris on Radio 2 and is named BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week for BBC 3 Counties. Her voice, melodies and lyrics attract attention from MOJO, which shortlists her for its New Voice competition, and from The Guardian, which names her New Band of the Day.

Scott’s recordings are also played in Caffè Nero, where she is Artist of the Month, as well as in Costa and in bars and hotel chains internationally. As a live performer, she supports acts including Seth Lakeman and 10cc, and appears at venues such as Union Chapel. She also performs across Italy, where the country remains a central part of her musical identity.
