Greywind

Greywind are an Irish alternative rock and emo group formed by brother and sister Steph and Paul O’Sullivan. The band is based in Killarney, Ireland, and has been active since 2014. Their music sits across alternative rock, pop punk, alternative and rock, with an emo edge reflected in their early reputation.

Career

Greywind build their early profile through live appearances at Reading & Leeds and Download Festival, where their sets attract positive attention. They are also noted by radio DJ Zane Lowe, who describes them as “a moment you won’t forget if you’re a fan of rock music”. The group later faces a difficult period during the global pandemic and pauses new releases while seeking the rights to their major-label debut album Afterthoughts.

Releases and later activity

Afterthoughts becomes central to the band’s story, especially after a 2023 surge in attention sees several songs from the album reach a much wider audience online. Greywind then return with the single “Antidote”, which is jointly produced by Sam Guaiana and Casey Cavaliere of The Wonder Years. The track draws on the emotional experience of the duo’s early career.
