Good Lovelies

Good Lovelies are a Canadian folk and country harmony trio from Toronto, formed in 2006. The group consists of Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore, who were each performing as solo artists in the Toronto area when they first came together for a Christmas concert at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel. They continue as an active group.

Career

After the initial concert, the trio decide to keep working together. Their debut EP, Oh My, appears in 2007, followed by their first full-length album, The Good Lovelies, in 2009. Later that year they also issue the Christmas-themed EP Under the Mistletoe. Subsequent releases include Let the Rain Fall in 2011, Burn the Plan in 2015, the digital version of Shapeshifters in 2018, Evergreen in 2019, and We Will Never Be The Same in 2023. Shapeshifters marks a shift from their usual folk style towards a more pop-oriented sound.

Awards

Their 2009 album wins the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year by a Group at the 2010 Juno Awards. They also receive the New Emerging Artist Award at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2009.
