Goldierocks
Goldierocks is the performing name of Sam Hall, a DJ, presenter, producer, remixer, music journalist and party planner. She is associated with London’s club and live-music scene and is known for DJ sets at parties, aftershows, festivals and club nights across the UK and Europe.
DJ work and live appearances
Goldierocks appears at a wide range of events, including Reading & Leeds Festival, the Leftfield stage at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape in Brighton, Lovebox Weekender, Manchester’s Warehouse Project, Fabric and various Ibiza Rocks parties. She also plays in Barcelona at Razzmatazz, holds residencies there and in other venues, and appears at events in Prague, Budapest, Perugia, Lisbon, Monaco, Copenhagen and Austin. Her live work includes support and warm-up slots for acts such as Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, Mr Hudson and The Library, and Primal Scream’s Mani, as well as appearances at MTV European Music Awards aftershows, Live 8 post-event celebrations and fashion-related parties and launches.
Production and remixes
She works with Aaron Audio, who is the son of Trevor Horn, on remixes and original electro-pop material. Her remix credits include tracks by The Kooks, The Holloways, Zagar, Foals, Natty, King Charles, Lucy & The Caterpillar, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Cock & Bull Kid. She also records original material under the name Goldierocks & Audio.
Goldierocks Soundsystem
She runs a monthly club night called Goldierocks Soundsystem. The event combines DJs, live acts, dancers, performance art, live installations, game play, theatrics and visual elements. It presents artists and groups including The Noisettes, Art Brut, Louie, Jeremy Warmsley, Chikinki, John Kennedy, Ladyfuzz, The Pipettes, The Rocks, The Modern, Cazals, The Chalets, The Archie Bronson Outfit, Emmy The Great, Rumble Strips, Mr Hudson & Library DJs, Mystery Jet DJs, End of the Road Festival DJs, Honey Weasel and Team FROG.
Writing, radio and television
As a writer, Goldierocks contributes a column to Spill and UP Magazine and works as nightlife editor for Rockfeedback.com. She also writes guest pieces for Music Week, Clash, Logo, i-D, NME, The Pix, Phamous 69 and Tamsin Blanchard’s Green Is The New Black. She takes part in music panels at industry events such as In The City and London Calling, and is described as an official Ambassador of British Culture. Her radio work includes monthly pod and video casts on iTunes, the Goldierocks show on Diesel-U-Music Radio 87.7FM, and guest co-presenting on Channel 4 Radio and the Orange Music Show. She also appears on television coverage and music programmes including Transmission, Self Adhesive TV, 1234 Records Festival coverage, Rockfeedback TV, ASOS TV for London Fashion Week, Daxstar Amsterdam coverage, Afterparty Huddersfield and BBC Blast.
