Gilmore & Roberts

Gilmore & Roberts are a UK folk duo made up of Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts. They begin recording under the name Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts before adopting their shorter duo name in 2012.

Style and instrumentation

Their music combines songwriting with lap-tapping guitar, fiddle and close vocal harmonies. Both members are multi-instrumentalists. Katriona Gilmore sings and plays fiddle, mandolin, viola and guitar. Jamie Roberts sings and plays guitar, mandolin, banjo and cajon, and also adds trombone, drums and programming on their albums.

Career

The duo receive two nominations at the BBC Folk Awards. Their fourth album is Conflict Tourism, which follows a year of touring in mainland Europe, Canada and Britain.
