Freelance Whales
Freelance Whales is an indie rock band from Queens, United States. The group forms in 2008 and is active until 2014. Its line-up includes Judah Dadone, Chuck Criss, Hayley Jane Batt, Timothy Cronin, Doris Cellar, Jacob Hyman and Kevin Read.
Line-up and roles
The band centres on Judah Dadone, who performs lead vocals, banjo, acoustic and electric guitar, synthesizer and bass. Other members include Doris Cellar, also credited as Nicole Mourelatos, on bass, harmonium, glockenspiel, synthesizer and vocals; Chuck Criss on banjo, bass, synthesizer, glockenspiel, harmonium, acoustic and electric guitar and vocals; Jacob Hyman on drums, percussion and vocals; and Kevin Read on acoustic and electric guitar, glockenspiel, mandolin, synthesizer and vocals. The group also includes Hayley Jane Batt and Timothy Cronin.
Releases
The band releases two albums: Weathervanes in 2009 and Diluvia in 2012. In April 2013, Doris Cellar no longer plays with the band.
