Fitz

Fitz is a radio host from Texas and one of several acts that have used the name Fitz. The name is also associated with Michael Fitzpatrick of Fitz & the Tantrums, and with German actor and musician Michael Fitz, who uses it from an early stage of his career.

Greg and David Fitzpatrick

Greg and David Fitzpatrick are singers, songwriters, arrangers and producers who perform their own music and play their own instruments. They use Newfoundland, Canada as a home base and begin their careers in their early teens. The brothers work across Canada, the United States and Australia.

Greg Fitzpatrick, the older brother, writes, performs and produces for The Lords of London, and writes their Canadian number one single, “Cornflakes and Ice Cream”. He receives a BMI Award for that work. After the band changes its name, it becomes Nucleus, and Greg writes and produces the album Nucleus at A & R Studio in New York City. The album becomes a gold record and develops a reputation as a progressive and influential release, with a lasting impact on Canadian musicians.

David Fitzpatrick starts performing at 12 with the local band Black Magic, while already playing drums, bass, harmonica, guitar and some piano. He writes his first song at 10 and records it at 12, overdubbing all the instruments himself. He later tours as bass player with the Celtic group Figgy Duff. David then tours extensively with The Fables, who release three CDs and achieve gold status with their first release. The Fables also win The Entertainers of the Year at the 2002 East Coast Music Awards.

As a producer, arranger and session player, David Fitzpatrick has credits on 72 albums and runs his own studio. Together, Dave and Greg Fitzpatrick write, produce and perform original songs from a catalogue of more than 1000 compositions. Their release Out of the Blue contains 14 songs.
