First Time Flyers

First Time Flyers are a British country-pop group active since 2022. The group consists of Vicki Manser, Jake Morrell, Poppy Fardell and Tim Prottey-Jones.

Background and style

The four members come together with experience of performing at the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium, as well as work in West End theatre, major-label recording, national touring and Radio 2 playlisting. Their music centres on feel-good melodies and four-part harmony.

Releases and writing

The group’s second release of 2024 is Jump, a song about taking a chance on love and being willing to risk heartache. It is produced again by Tim Prottey-Jones, who is also a band member. He describes the track as a short burst of energy influenced by songs such as Dasha’s Austin and Texas Hold Em. Guitarist and vocalist Jake Morrell says the band decides to try a sound he felt was not yet widely adopted by UK country acts.
