Findlay

Findlay is the performing name of Natalie Rose Findlay, an English musician born in 1991. She is from Manchester and London, and originally comes from Stockport, England. Her work is identified with indie rock.

Career

She begins performing in 2007, first playing open-mic acoustic nights before deciding she wants a backing band. Her sound develops through an interest in dirty guitar tones and in bands such as The Stooges and The White Stripes, alongside wider post-punk influences. She then drops her forename and performs under the name Findlay.

Findlay performs with a line-up of a drummer and two guitarists, with no bassist, which gives the music a more aggressive live sound. She supports The Courteeners and Jake Bugg on tour.

Releases

Her first releases are the tracks “Your Sister” and “Off & On”, issued in 2012 on Manchester label Joyeux Anniversaire Records. She follows these with the Greasy Love EP in 2013.
