Evil Devil
Evil Devil is an Italian psychobilly group formed in March 2001. The band grows out of CremEvil’s attempt to reunite his earlier group, Bone Rest, which includes AmbrosEvil and PiccEvil. Angel Face, a long-time friend of CremEvil from the psychobilly scene, replaces the previous singer, and the group takes the name Evil Devil.
Early lineup and recordings
After a short period of rehearsal, the band records a self-produced CD of original songs. It sends the disc to the German label Crazy Love Records, which quickly offers to produce the group. The label responds to the material because it combines older and newer psychobilly styles in a way that stands out in the scene at the time.
Teo, formerly a guitar player with the StompinMad Bats, later joins on guitar to give the live sound more force. Danilo later joins on rhythm guitar.
Touring and releases
Evil Devil organises the Evil Scream Tour 2002, playing in Italy, Spain at the Calella Psycho Meeting, and several times in Germany, including Satanic Stomp and Kings of Psychobilly.
The band then writes and records its second CD, Breakfast at the Psychohouse, with extra attention given to sound quality, backing vocals and cover art. Its Blood for Breakfast tour in 2003 takes the band through Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the United States, including three shows in New York City and a final appearance at C.B.G.B.
The third album, Drink to Kill My Pain, appears in 2005 and is followed by the Drink to Kill Tour across Europe in spring and summer 2005, as well as a show in Los Angeles at the Key Club in Hollywood in November 2005. In 2006, the band returns to the road on the Drink To Kill European Tour Part 2, which visits Croatia, Austria, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Italy.
After more than three years of frequent touring, the band pauses to focus on writing and recording its fourth album, Rocker's Life, which appears in 2008.
