Esperanza

Esperanza is a hardcore punk group from San Diego that is active from 1997 to 2007. It appears on the punk, hardcore punk, indie, and techno tags, and the name is also used for several unrelated acts.

Hardcore punk recordings and shows

The group has a short-lived hardcore punk output and appears on compilations including Barbaric Thrash Demolition Vol. 2 and Histeria. Its only release outside those compilation tracks is a demo that circulates widely and receives a positive response. The band’s sound is associated with influences such as Faith, Articles of Faith, No for an Answer, and, on at least one track, Inside Out.

Activity and members

During its active period, Esperanza plays shows with Total Fury, Lifes Halt, The Oath, Real Shit, What Happens Next?, Tragedy, Youth Riot, Scholastic Deth, and Ruination. Members later go on to play in Mugre, Please Inform the Captain This is a Hijack, and Descerados.
