Ellie Williams is a singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom. She works in pop and indie-influenced music, with piano among the instruments associated with her style.

Early life and background

She grows up in a musical household, with two older sisters singing in choirs and a father who plays guitar and sings to her. She begins performing original songs at the age of eight, staging small home concerts on a coffee table and singing into a toy microphone substitute while playing a Guitar Hero guitar.

Williams later grows up in Lawrence, Kansas, where she performs R&B and blues covers with local bands and also plays solo gigs. She gradually moves towards more alternative pop material before relocating to California to write and record her first album.

Recording career

Her debut album, Act My Age, is released in 2016 and is made with producer Brandon Sammons. She later enters production on a second full-length album with producer Wayne Wilkins.

Her songwriting and musical approach draw on artists including Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara, Julia Michaels and FINNEAS.
