Eksman

Eksman is the stage name of Kevin Forrester, a drum and bass MC originally from Brockley in South London. He starts his career in 1996 and builds his reputation over several years through writing, refining his delivery and developing his lyrics before becoming a prominent figure in the drum and bass scene.

Career and recognition

His wider profile grows in 2003, when he wins Best Newcomer at both the Knowledge Magazine awards and the Accelerated Culture awards. These wins lead to more bookings in the UK and internationally. In 2004, he takes the Best Lyrical MC title from Skibadee, with the award decided by a worldwide vote of eleven thousand people.

Releases and label work

Eksman continues to establish himself with releases including Drive by Car in 2005, produced by DJ Zinc of Bingo Recordings. Other tracks named include “Bad Man” on Frontline Recordings and “They Don’t Know” on D Style Recordings. He also wins Best MC in the BBC Radio 1Xtra Online Awards and appears as the first guest on the station.
