Echotape

Echotape is a UK indie rock band formed in 2011 by a group of musicians from the music scene in a small town in the south of England. The band lives and works together in its own studio and flat, and develops its music through a DIY approach.

Career

The group performs widely, with appearances ranging from Hollywood to Holyhead and from Moscow to Madrid. It also appears at London’s Tate Gallery and has a history of unusual live moments, including a naked stage invasion in Dublin and an onstage jam with Carl Barat of The Libertines.

The band’s do-it-yourself ethic is covered in a Sky News report and interview in November 2013. Its single “We Should Feel Like We Are In Love” trends on SoundCloud after its release in April 2014, passes 100,000 online plays through self-release, and is issued as a limited edition run of 500 CD singles that sells out.

Following that release, Echotape is invited to a studio session with BBC Introducing South and spends the summer on the festival circuit, including appearances at The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City and Blissfields. The band also announces the single “Whiskey Bar,” continuing its UK touring activity.
