Dj Irk is a British DJ known for wordplay-heavy scratch skits and mixtapes, using turntablism and sampling across a broad mix of styles. He appears as a guest-mix contributor on Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel Radio show, alongside a long list of DJs and producers including DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, Steinski, Coldcut, Caspa, Kid Koala, Company Flow, Kraddy and Freestylers. His mixes are among the most listened to on the show, which has a long-running history of broadcasting a wide range of beats and also shares its name with Ninja Tune’s official mix releases.

Solid Steel

Irk wins the Solid Steel Guest Mix Of The Year title in 2010. His live sets are described as unpredictable and heavily scratched, built from digital crates and played on two Technics turntables. They draw on breaks, hip hop, drum and bass, electro, glitch and dubstep, bringing those styles together in a single set.
