Demob Happy
Demob Happy are a British rock band formed in 2008 in Newcastle upon Tyne and now based in Brighton. The group centres on singer and bassist Matthew Marcantonio, with Adam Godfrey on guitar and vocals and Tom Armstrong on drums and vocals. The original line-up also includes lead guitarist Mathew Renforth, who leaves the band in 2016.
Background
The band begins by playing locally in Newcastle before relocating to Brighton a few years later. Their sound is described as alternative rock, and they are also associated with indie rock, grunge and garage rock.
Releases and labels
Their first physical release is the 7-inch single Succubus, issued in 2014 on their own Milk Parlour Records. In 2015 they release the Young & Numb EP on So Recordings as a limited-edition Record Store Day 10-inch release.
Touring and profile
Demob Happy tour with their material and gain wider attention after supporting Jack White on the UK leg of the Boarding House Reach world tour in 2018.
